Design Ideas is the new feature introduced by Microsoft within PowerPoint from its 2016 office version. The idea behind it was to create abstract slides using the content placed by the user, basically how this works is when a user types in a text or a title the design ideas pane shows a bunch of options that can be applied to the current slide, the same goes while inserting one or two pictures on the slide.
All you need to do is just pick the combination that works for you and carry on with your presentation but the Design ideas in PowerPoint are limited for example when you insert a text and image together there are no options available in Design Ideas pane the same goes when multiple elements are put on the slides.
