I’ve been using PowerPoint for almost 5 years now and every time I use it I discover new possibilities, and I wonder how a presentation tool can transform complex work into simple. Its not just a program that is quite easy to use but it is something that empowers creativity of yours. So focusing on the title “Things You Don’t Know What PowerPoint 2013 Can Do!” Here are 4 very things I’ve explored and been working with PowerPoint that most people don’t know or usually work.
1) PowerPoint as a Video Editing Tool
It was a dream come true when PowerPoint 2013 came out with a feature to export presentation as a Video that is supported by almost all media players globally. It was not just about a simple presentation but complex presentations that included heavy media such as videos, pictures etc. were exported without any errors and final output was a 720p HD or 1080i HD version which is pretty cool compared to the modern media standards. Its easy to edit videos in PowerPoint, you can trim them, recolor them, add custom shapes and even set them as backgrounds. Here is a video made in PowerPoint.
2) PowerPoint as a document creator
I like Microsoft Word but sometimes things go messy inside it, either the formatting gets effected by mistyped keys on the keyboard or something else happens etc. But PowerPoint is a good tool to work with text, all you need to do is set custom slide size and use text boxes, tables or shapes etc. that tenders your need, and when you are done, you can export the document as a PDF. You can create invoices in minutes, book, letter etc.
3) PowerPoint as an Animation tool
Well this feature is quite complicated but if you are well aware with the animations inside the PowerPoint, then you can create some cool 2D transitions such as the below.
4) PowerPoint as a Graphic Designing tool
I am not talking about complex designs but If you want to create simple flyers, Facebook covers, scrapbook stuff or any other graphic image without any photoshop knowledge! Then its time you consider PowerPoint. Creating designs in PowerPoint by using inbuilt shapes, text and pictures of your own is quite easy when compared to creating them in any other graphic designing tool.
As the PowerPoint is evolving with every new release, there will be more new ways of using it. Until we reach that day, these were four very things I often do with PowerPoint besides creating Presentations, hope you find the info helpful. I believe there are more numerous ways of using PowerPoint for other purposes. If you have any new thoughts on it then post it in comments below.
